New Product Alert!

CORTEC participated this week at LSU’s PERTT Lab in Baton Rouge, La., in a flow loop test of our new Back Pressure Valve design. This design will be incorporated into several deepwater drilling systems this year and will be utilized to provide back pressure downstream of Coriolis flow meters which will aid in accurate measurement.

This design was completed in close communication with major operators and drilling contractors to address a need for a back pressure device which could provide full flow capability of larger 7-1/16” bore systems while maintaining original piping system design criteria.

The valve features a 7-1/16” characterized port ball which rotates 90 degrees into the flow stream to the end users desired effect. Shown here with a customer specified fail open pneumatic actuator and extended adapter spools, this design can be rated up to 5,000 PSI and specified to meet customer desired end connection and actuation methods. We are very appreciative of our client’s trust and an opportunity to display how CORTEC’s unique blend of capability and adaptability deliver value in the field.
