CORTEC Fluid Control has completed third-party testing of the CX3 drilling choke at a test facility in Maine. This rigorous testing is in compliance with the latest API 16C revisions, and includes 200 stem cycles during temperature simulations ranging from -20 to 350 F. The test media, nitrogen gas, was pressurized at intervals up to 15,000 PSI and the assembly was submerged into a water tank to observe for any bubble leakage. No visible leakage was detected and the choke successfully passed all requirements. CORTEC is one of the first choke manufacturers in the world to complete a successful validation in compliance with the latest standard criteria.
