This specially engineered CORTEC model CC5MIR choke is a 6” nominal, 5” max orifice 15,000 PSI design and was recently installed on a deepwater GOM platform to replace another OEM failed choke assembly. Equipped with electric actuation, this design was supplied with multiple trim set options ranging from 1.5” to 5” for various production stages forecasted of the operation. The actuation was configured with a gearbox that will allow the same actuator to be utilized throughout all of the trim options provided. This configuration features Grayloc hub connections and is Inconel 625 overlaid in all seal areas.
