Houma, La. – CORTEC is excited to reveal its latest version of the Extreme Service Choke line, the CX-3.

The new CX-3 is a third generation gear operated model that features a bolted retention plate added to the gear operator. This allows for the additional support needed to eliminate shear pin breakages, diminishing down time and maximizing gear operator strength and integrity.

CORTEC’s Extreme Service Choke line offers both the piston CXE-II and gear operated CX-3 models. Standard trim sizes include 1-1/2”, 2”, and 3”. Pressure classes range from 5,000 psi to 15,000 psi. Models with rating up to 20,000 psi are available upon request. These chokes are intended for applications such as drilling, choke & kill, coil tubing, well control, frac flowback, and under balanced drilling. They offer a robust design capable of withstanding the abuse these applications can place on equipment.
