We are currently seeking an experienced Automation Design Engineer for our facility in Port Allen, LA.
GREAT location in Port Allen! One mile south of HWY-190 bridge for EASY commute to and from the Baton Rouge area!!!
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the design of automation products and supervision of fabrication.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare Instrument/Electrical Wiring Design
- Prepare Pneumatic/Hydraulic/Electrical Panel Design
- Provide cost estimates for automation products
- Oversee fabrication
- Test automation panels and products
- Plan, schedule and coordinate design efforts with others
- May be required to perform other related duties
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree in Engineering or related field; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good grasp of fundamental industrial automation wiring and pneumatic tubing design concepts
- Experience with design of small PLC controlled systems
- Experience with design of small pneumatic and hydraulic actuation control panels
- Must have good communication skills and attention to details
- Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks 3D and/or Autodesk Inventor) is a plus
- Knowledge of metal fabrication concepts is a plus
- Experience with PLC programming/system configuration is a plus
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
