Cortec Team Supports Haiti Mission

At CORTEC, giving back is a fundamental part of our culture. One of our passions is supporting Haiti Mission, Inc., a Louisiana-based international development organization that creates sustainable projects to bring dignity, hope, love, joy, and faith to the people of Haiti.

Thanks to our team’s heartfelt generosity, CORTEC funded the construction of six homes in 2024. This contribution brings our total to 30 out of the 363 homes HMI has built over the years. We take great joy in knowing these Haitian families will have a safe, comfortable house to call home.

Here are a few stories of the gracious recipients of our homes:

Micheline is the widowed mother of eleven children. Three of her children live with her now as she is disabled, and they are able to do some farming and pick up petty jobs for survival. Though a poor widow living in horrible circumstances, Micheline is very generous. She always seems to be able to find something to share with those in need. It is a great joy that HMI can help her move into a decent and secure home with her beloved children. She praises God for this gift!

Louise and his wife, Josette, live in Paroty, and they have a small place to farm. Josette goes to sell the products from their farm in Jeremie at the market. They have five children, three of whom live with them now. As you can see from the picture, their living conditions were dire. It is easy to understand their joy and gratitude to God and the HMI donors for putting them in their beautiful new home.

Jean Dinal was a carpenter and a farmer before he became disabled. His wife, Rosemita, now the head of the family, does a little commerce at the public market in Jeremie. She has a huge job providing for the five children and three grandchildren living with them in Paroty. You can see that their home was very inadequate, so they had been praying for the help of God. It is easy to understand their joy in receiving their new home!

Helene is a widow in her 90s. She has three of her children, five of her grandchildren, and nine of her great-grandchildren living with her in the awful condition you see in the photo. They mostly live by farming, but their number makes it very difficult. They are deeply grateful to God and the donors who have made this possible.
