CORTEC Installs New MPD System in the Gulf of Mexico

CORTEC recently installed a new MPD manifold system operating in the Gulf of Mexico.

This system was a turnkey project in which CORTEC supported the customer from the initial design until completed installation, which required integration into existing rig pipework.

CORTEC’s proven experience, design expertise and best-in-class service and support delivered a superior operational result while simultaneously achieving space and weight savings from the use of a metal-sealed compact valve design.

The MPD system includes the choke, meter, distribution, junk catcher and buffer manifold piping segments. Some highlighted features of the system include:

• All electric actuation
• 7-1/16” Bore design rated for 3000 PSI
• CORTEC models CX-3.0 and CX-6.0 chokes
• CORTEC model XC-RV2.6 choke relief valves
• 7-1/16” Trunnion-style bi-directional metal seated sealing ball valves with Inconel 625 cladded seal areas
