We are seeking a Software Developer Level 1. The position is located at our Houma, LA facility.
Job Summary:
Responsible for creating enhancements to general business operations through custom programming
and company’s Enterprise Resource Planning software (Infor Visual). On occasions the job may entail
other duties unrelated to the core “Essential Job Responsibilities.”
Essential Job Duties:
- Develop, prepare, and disseminate financial and operational reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with senior developers, as well as team members from other operational and technical
departments, to understand project requirements and design software solutions to meet those needs. - Write, test, and debug code for various software applications or systems.
- Assist with maintaining and updating existing codebases, addressing bugs, and implementing
feature enhancements. - Attend and contribute to team meetings and discussions, collaborating with team members from all
operational and technical departments.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Software Development.
- Enterprise Resource Planning software experience preferred.
Specialized Knowledge, Critical Skills and Competencies:
- Microsoft Access: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access programing and operations which
includes creating linked tables in Microsoft SQL Server, designing Queries, Forms, Reports and - Macros, and programming in Visual Basic for Access (VBA) and VBScript.
Microsoft SQL: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SQL Server - Management Studio (SSMS); queries, triggers, functions, stored procedures.
- Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Microsoft Report Builder or other reporting
software such as Crystal Reports or Power BI. - Basic understanding of software development methodologies and relational database architectures.
- Familiarity with distributed version control systems such as TortoiseHG for the Mercurial distributed
revision control system. - Familiarity with general concept of Application Programming Interfaces (API).
- Strong analytical, organizational and computer skills. Capable of logical and analytical thought.
- Knowledge of basic cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, etc.).
Language Skills:
Good command of the English language both verbal and written accompanied with good reading and
interpretation skills.
Mathematical Skills:
Advanced arithmetic and algebraic Skills.
