We are seeking an Information Technology Director for our company. The position is located in Houma, LA.
Job Summary:
The role of the Information Technology Director is to maintain information technology strategies by managing staff, researching, and implementing technological strategic solutions.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide leadership, vision, and management to the IT department.
- Maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and continual operation of the IT network.
- Accomplish information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Maintain organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
- Responsible for the ordering, acquisition, inventorying, and disposition of hardware and software.
- Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center.
- Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
- Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements.
- Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements and scheduling expenditures.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
- Participate in quarterly management meetings to articulate department accomplishments and needs to Executive Management as well as understand and implement support needed by other departments.
- Responsible for understanding manufacturing workflows and user needs, ensuring that the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages meet operational objectives.
- Responsible for creating policies and strategy for data and network security as well as ensuring employee are trained and in compliance with security policies.
- Responsible for documentation of all software modifications and add-on applications to CORTEC’s MRP system.
Qualifications: Minimum of a four-year degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Sciences, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related field and at least five years’ experience in technical operations management and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Specialized Knowledge, Critical Skills and Competencies:
Broad knowledge of information technology processing systems, concepts, and methodologies. Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers or employees.
Must be able to assess a situation, seek multiple perspectives, gather additional information if necessary, and identify key issues that need to be addressed.
